Workflows

Keep your carrier import clean.

Use USDOT as your stable key and preserve postal codes and phones as text.

Excel and Google Sheets

Extract the .gz file, then use the CSV import dialog. Set USDOT, MC, postal code and phone columns to text. Large nationwide files can exceed spreadsheet row limits; use a state pack, a database or a CSV tool for the full file.

CRM import

Map dot_number to your external company ID to update existing carriers instead of creating duplicates. Map legal_name to company name, then email, phone, physical state, fleet and cargo fields. Test with the free sample before importing a full pack.

Daily feed

Filter by first_seen or a publication date in your dashboard. Import with dot_number as the deduplication key. Overlapping date-window exports intentionally include the same carriers; use your CRM’s update-or-create option.
